HUDSON VALLEY RUNNER

Hudson Valley Runner is a website created in 2003 to keep runners and exercise enthusiasts up to date on news, races, results, training, ideas and other interesting tidbits. New York State’s Hudson River, extending from its headwaters deep in the Adirondacks to the lower Hudson city of Newburgh, is the general geographic range of the website; more attention is given to places that have training runs, races and runners.

Hudson Valley Runner is dedicated to the following ideas:

1) All kinds of running, both competitive and non-competitive, are of great benefit to the body and the soul.

2) The non-tangible aspects of running—socializing, encouraging, and touching people’s hearts—are more important than anything else.

3) The beautiful Hudson Valley region is the best place on the East Coast to live and run.

Hudson Valley Runner relies on a loosely organized group of runners and walkers in the Hudson Valley who send email messages back and forth in order to share information. To contribute to Hudson Valley Runner, simply send it by email to catskill_creek@yahoo.com.

RACE RESULTS: Send race results in MS Word, MS Excel or HTML format.

PHOTOS: When sending photos, please send one at a time since photos can take up a large amount of memory. Send photos in the j-peg format if you can.

RACE REPORTS: Race reports are just your written impressions of a race. They can be from the hip or formal, and there is no set style or length. Remember that volunteers are part of the race effort too, so mention them by name if you can.

PUBLICITY FOR RACES: If you are planning a race, send a race application (preferably a PDF, JPG, HTML or MS Word file) with the details of the race. There is no charge for publicizing a race with Hudson Valley Runner.
